The terms governing use of LivingABC, The LivingABC Scoop, listings, events and submitted content |
Effective date: 4 October 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern use of LivingABC, including the LivingABC website, articles, local guides, event information, business listings, directory features, The LivingABC Scoop and associated services.
LivingABC is operated by Mediawyse Ltd.
Contact: connect@mediawyseni.com.
By using LivingABC, submitting material, or purchasing or requesting a service from LivingABC, you agree to these Terms where applicable.
1. About LivingABC
LivingABC is an independent local digital media platform serving Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough and surrounding communities.
We publish and curate local stories, events, business information, guides, community features and other content intended to help people discover more of what is happening across the area.
LivingABC also publishes The LivingABC Scoop, our email newsletter.
2. Christian ethos and editorial approach
LivingABC is independently operated and its editorial approach is informed by the Christian faith and values of its publisher, including respect for human dignity, family, community, honesty, fairness, responsibility and respectful public discourse.
LivingABC welcomes readers, businesses, organisations and communities from a wide range of backgrounds and beliefs.
Publication or inclusion on LivingABC does not mean that LivingABC agrees with every belief, opinion, activity or practice associated with a person, organisation, business or event featured.
LivingABC retains editorial independence and final editorial discretion over the material it publishes, promotes, features or accepts.
3. Editorial discretion
LivingABC is under no obligation to publish any submission, advertisement, business listing, event, article, promotion, sponsorship or other material.
We may edit, decline, remove, suspend or discontinue material where we reasonably consider that it conflicts materially with LivingABC's editorial standards or Christian ethos, is unlawful, misleading or defamatory, contains materially inaccurate information, promotes hatred, hostility, abuse or degrading treatment, contains sexually explicit or otherwise inappropriate material, promotes activities, products, services or messages that LivingABC does not consider suitable for its general local audience, presents an unacceptable legal, safety or reputational risk, seeks to compromise LivingABC's editorial independence, or is otherwise unsuitable for publication in our reasonable editorial judgement.
Editorial decisions will be made by reference to the content, message, context, conduct and suitability of the material concerned, and not simply because of a person's race, sex, disability, religious belief, political opinion, sexual orientation or other characteristic protected by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to permit unlawful discrimination.
4. Information and editorial content
We aim to make LivingABC useful, accurate and relevant.
However, local information can change quickly and event dates, opening hours, prices, availability, road arrangements, business details and other information may change after publication.
You should check important details directly with the relevant organiser, venue, business or authority before travelling, purchasing or making decisions based on information published by LivingABC.
We may correct, update, shorten, expand or remove content at any time.
5. AI-assisted content
LivingABC may use artificial intelligence and other digital tools to assist with research, drafting, editing, summarising, categorisation, image preparation or production.
We aim to exercise appropriate editorial oversight, but AI-assisted material can occasionally contain errors, omissions or inaccuracies.
Readers should independently verify information where accuracy is particularly important.
6. Business directory and listings
LivingABC may publish profiles or listings for businesses, organisations, venues and services.
A listing does not automatically constitute an endorsement, recommendation or guarantee by LivingABC.
Businesses and organisations are responsible for ensuring information supplied by them is accurate, lawful and up to date.
LivingABC may edit listing copy for clarity, formatting, consistency, accuracy or editorial purposes and may decline, suspend or remove listings in accordance with our editorial standards.
7. Paid listings, advertising and sponsorship
LivingABC may offer paid or enhanced business listings, display or other advertising, sponsored content, competitions or promotional opportunities, commercial partnerships and other promotional services.
All advertising and sponsored material remains subject to LivingABC's editorial standards and Christian ethos.
Payment does not give an advertiser or sponsor control over independent LivingABC editorial coverage.
Where appropriate, advertising or sponsored content will be identified so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial material.
8. Event information and submissions
Event organisers and third parties may submit events for possible publication.
Submission does not guarantee publication.
By submitting information, you confirm that you are authorised to provide it, that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge, that publication does not infringe another person's rights, that you have permission for any photographs, logos or other material supplied, and that the event and promotional material comply with applicable law.
LivingABC may choose not to feature an event where it does not meet our editorial standards or is unsuitable for our audience.
LivingABC is not responsible for an event being changed, cancelled, postponed or inaccurately described by its organiser.
9. User-submitted material
If you provide LivingABC with text, photographs, video, event details, business information, corrections, comments or other material, you retain ownership of material that belongs to you.
You grant Mediawyse Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, edit, format, publish and promote that material for LivingABC-related editorial and promotional purposes.
You confirm that you have the rights required to grant this permission.
You must not submit material that is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, obscene, deceptive, infringing or otherwise inappropriate.
10. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the LivingABC name, branding, design and original editorial content are owned by or licensed to Mediawyse Ltd.
You may share links to LivingABC articles and reasonable extracts for personal or non-commercial purposes with appropriate attribution.
You may not systematically copy, reproduce, scrape, republish or commercially exploit substantial parts of LivingABC without permission.
11. Third-party websites and services
LivingABC may link to external websites, ticketing systems, booking services, businesses, social-media platforms and other third-party resources.
We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, products or services, privacy practices or contractual arrangements with users.
12. The LivingABC Scoop

Subscribers may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe facility provided in our emails.

13. Corrections, complaints and right of reply
LivingABC aims to report fairly and accurately.
If you believe something published by LivingABC is materially inaccurate, unfair, outdated or requires correction, please contact connect@mediawyseni.com and identify the relevant article or page and explain your concern.
Where appropriate, LivingABC may amend or clarify material, add an update or correction, remove material, seek further information, or provide a reasonable opportunity for a relevant party to respond.
The final editorial decision remains with LivingABC, subject to applicable law.
14. Prohibited use
You must not interfere with the operation or security of LivingABC, use LivingABC for unlawful or fraudulent purposes, attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or data, knowingly submit false or materially misleading information, copy substantial amounts of site content without permission, impersonate another individual or organisation, or use automated methods in a way that places an unreasonable burden on the service.
15. Availability
We aim to keep LivingABC available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may change, suspend, withdraw or discontinue parts of LivingABC where reasonably necessary.
16. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mediawyse Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from reliance on editorial information, event listings, business listings, third-party businesses, advertisements, external websites, or products or services supplied by third parties.
Nothing on LivingABC should be regarded as professional legal, financial, medical or other regulated advice unless expressly stated otherwise.
17. Privacy and cookies
Our handling of personal information is explained in the LivingABC Privacy Policy.
Our use of cookies and similar technologies is explained in the LivingABC Cookie Policy.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when LivingABC, our services, our commercial activities or applicable law changes.
The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Northern Ireland.
Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland except where applicable consumer law gives a person a right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
